ITV2 will air Love Island: The Christmas Reunion later this month (December) as host Caroline Flack reunites nineteen of its most talked about Islanders as they gather for the ultimate festive get together.

Reflecting on their memorable Summer experience, this winter special picks up where the couples left off, with Iain Stirling once again presiding over the proceedings as narrator.

Six months on, whose love has lasted the distance, who has scores to settle, and who is feeling single and ready to mingle once again?

Escaping to a festive retreat, the Islanders will lift the lid on the dramatic break ups and tabloid headlines that have played out since departing the villa.

Are reconciliations on the cards, or have the holiday romance bubbles well and truly burst?

Returning for the reunion are Love Island winners Jack and Dani and finalists Wes and Megan, and Kaz (boyfriend Josh is away in the USA).

Meanwhile, how will estranged couples Laura and Paul, Georgia and Sam and Ellie and Charlie react as they come face to face?

Samira, Dr Alex, Alexandra, Kendall, Hayley and Eyal are also back to update on whether they’ve had more luck in love outside the villa. And are Adam and Zara still living a happy ever after?

The air date for Love Island: The Christmas Reunion has been confirmed as Monday, December 17 at 9PM on ITV2.

ITV tease: “Expect awkward conversations, old tensions resurfaced and maybe one or two mistletoe moments as this Summer’s biggest TV talking point raises one last festive glass to the class of 2018….”

Filming for the reunion took place earlier this year ahead of a rumoured split between Love Island winners Jack and Dani.

However, Dani’s dad Danny insisted: “They’ve had a row.

“They’ve had a row, she’s got a bit emotional and I think she has whacked that [split message] up and immediately regretted it.

“You know what women are like… I’m just saying she got a little bit irate, screaming and shouting, the ultimate way to punish him maybe.

“I don’t know what was going on but I can tell you now, they’re sweet.”

Meanwhile, applications for Love Island in 2019 are now open.

ITV ask: “How do you fancy enjoying your very own long hot summer of romance? Love Island will be back for summer 2019 and we’re now on the look out for lively singles from across the country to take part.

“Once again our Islanders will take up residence in a spectacular luxury villa in the hope of finding love. But to stay on the island, they need to couple up – and more importantly – win the hearts of the public.”
