Dani Dyer defends Love Island over Jack Fincham Casa Amor video controversy

A devilish twist took place halfway through the recent series, with the men leaving the women to move to the second villa.

Several new faces then arrived to tempt the original islanders – including Ellie, whom Jack had an on-off relationship with before the show.

Having been torn apart from her boyfriend, Dani was left wondering whether he would stray.

Her worst fears came to life when the girls received a video showing Jack coming face-to-face with Ellie.

Dani broke down in tears after watching the footage – but it did not reveal the truth of the situation.

Over at Casa Amor, Jack had actually professed his love for Dani, and slept outside so he wouldn’t have to share a bed with anyone.

Viewers were furious at the turn of events, accusing bosses of misleading Dani and causing her distress.

A whopping 2,525 people even contacted media regulator Ofcom, making it the most complained about television broadcast in two years.

Now, after she and Jack won Love Island on Monday, Dani has had her say on the incident.

In an interview with The Sun, Dani defended the show, suggesting such drama is necessary to keep viewers hooked.

“Oh listen, they’ve got to make a TV show. If I weren’t crying the viewers would drop,” she said.

“Yeah it was hard, it was a test for me and Jack. But we got back together.

“We had the up, we had the down — and now we’re up.”

Despite the uproar, Ofcom later rejected the complaints, ruling that they didn’t warrant an investigation.

Elsewhere, Dani and Jack claim that they want to marry within the next year.
