Love Island 'drops plans to add another of Jack Fincham's exes to the villa'

Love Island bosses have reportedly dropped plans to add another of Jack Fincham's exes to the villa.

Producers were apparently lining up another bombshell twist involving Keeley Maguire, who previously dated Jack.

It follows Jack's ex Ellie joining the show last week, causing tears between him and current partner Dani Dyer.

Ellie left the villa last week and now sources say plans for a similar twist have been axed.

"Keeley has given Love Island bigwigs a major dilemma," a source told The Sun newspaper. "Sending her into the villa would bring more drama, especially now Dani and Jack no longer have Ellie coming between them, but they're worried about a repeat of the Casa Amor fiasco.

"They think Keeley joining the show is too much of a risk - especially since they weren't that keen on her in the first place."

The previous stunt involving Ellie, Dani and Jack proved controversial with fans of the show.

Over 2,500 viewers of Love Island 2018 complained to TV watchdog Ofcom after Ellie joined the villa, accusing bosses of misleading Dani by showing her footage of Jack's reunion with his ex in the second villa.

Dani and Jack, regarded as the ITV2 show's 'power couple', were torn apart last week when the men were sent to Casa Amor.

The twist also introduced twelve fresh islanders - including Ellie, whom Jack had dated "on and off" since 2016.

Dani became increasingly worried about whether Jack would stray - and last night's episode saw her fears reach boiling point.

The actress broke down in floods of tears when the main villa was sent a video from Casa Amor, revealing Jack and Ellie's reunion for the first time.

Viewers reacted furiously to the drama, claiming producers had misled and distressed Dani - and now Ofcom is involved.

Within hours of the episode airing, 650 people had complained to the media regulator.

Over a day later, the complaints tally has hit a whopping 2,525 - making Love Island the most complained about TV show in two years.

Officials are considering whether or not to launch an investigation.

An Ofcom spokesperson told the BBC that the complaints are "specifically relating to Dani being shown the video of Jack".

"These will be assessed against the broadcasting code before a decision is made whether or not to investigate," they said.

Love Island 2018 continues nightly at 9PM on ITV2.
