Love Island fans slam ‘lack of diversity’ in the villa

Love Island has come under fire for a lack of diversity after adding eleven new contestants.

Chaos has rocked the ITV2 dating contest this week after bosses brought back the devilish Casa Amor twist.

The islanders were split in two groups, with the men being sent off to the sneaky second villa.

Twelve fresh faces then arrived, putting the original couples’ relationships to the ultimate test.

While the twist excited many, the lack of diversity among the newbies has left lots disappointed.

One of those speaking out has been Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock. She tweeted: “How many weeks in and we are yet to see hardly any diversity in @LoveIsland I’m tuning off! ??‍♀️ #disappointed #diversity x Leigh”

A second posted: “I really believe @LoveIsland and @itv2 need to seriously address this lack of diversity and representation because honestly I am VEX. Everyone is literally vanilla with a dash of chai and I’m bored of it. #LoveIsland”

Another Twitter user quipped sarcastically: “So much diversity in the new islanders. I can really tell the difference between them all. Qwhite literally. #loveisland ?”

Other Love Island fans begged for some “curvy girls” and “Dad bods”.

They wrote: “Can we have a bit of diversity on love island, get some curvy girls in, some guys with Dad bods and people of different races. All shapes and sizes to actually represent the world we live in, and to think it’s called reality TV. #loveisland”
