Love Island stars insist having sex on TV isn’t a problem

Stars of Love Island have defended their decision to have sex on TV.

Jessica Shears and Kady McDermott, who appeared on the show on 2016 and 2017 respectively, insist they’ve got no regrets.

Jessica is currently engaged to fellow Love Island contestant Dom Lever after they met on the show.

And she reckons their decision to have sex on the series may have helped their relationship.

She said: “No one normally knows about your sexual relations but then at the end of the day if that worked for Dom and I, I’m glad that we did because I’m still with him now.

“It wasn’t a one night stand, I didn’t sleep with multiple people on the show and I think if it feels right and you feel comfortable with that person go for it.”

Jess gave The Sun newspaper her advice to this year’s Islanders: “Don’t feel confined to anyone else’s opinion of if you should or shouldn’t. It’s your choice.

“Maybe having sex on TV is what it takes to get married.”

Meanwhile, Kady McDermott encouraged the new cast to “have fun”.

“I personally don’t regret having sex because it was with someone I was actually with and loved,” she said.

However not everyone who has appeared on the show agrees.

Montana Brown appeared on the third series of the ITV2 reality show last summer.

During the run, we watched as Montana began a relationship with Alex Beattie that saw the pair go all the way.

But having sex on TV for Montana is her one Love Island regret.

“In hindsight, having sex on TV wasn’t the best idea. My advice to the new hopefuls is not to do it,” she said this year. “If I could have done it differently, I wouldn’t have had sex.

“But, other than that, I really enjoyed the experience.”

Love Island returns to ITV2 this summer.
