Love Island 2018 is back on TV tonight but what time does it start on ITV and what can we expect?

Ahead of Love Island’s return to ITV2 later this year for season four, here’s everything you need to know.

Love Island 2018 start date

ITV2 have officially confirmed the fourth season will begin on Monday, June 4. The launch episode will air for over 90 minutes between 9PM and 10:35PM as the cast enter the villa for the first time.

As in past series, the show will then continue EVERY night at 9PM on ITV2.

There will also be Sunday’s After Sun spin-off, airing at 10PM on ITV2.

Caroline Flack is going to return as host for a third year, while Iain Stirling will narrate.

As for how long Love Island will be on for, each series so far has lasted longer than the previous. 2017 was the biggest to date, lasting 43 days.

Caroline has confirmed that series four will last for eight weeks, seven days longer than last year’s record-breaking run.

Plus, it’s been revealed the show will return to the same villa as last year.

Love Island 2018 cast

You can meet the Love Island 2018 contestants here with 6 guys and 5 girls starting the line up.

The girls include Laura Anderson, a 29-year-old Cabin Crew worker from Stirling, Dani Dyer, 21-year-old Barmaid from East London and Hayley Hughes, a 21-year-old Model from Liverpool.

They’re joined by Kendall Rae-Knight, a 26-year-old Retail Manager from Blackpool and Samira Mighty, a 22-year-old West End Performer from London.

For the boys, there’s Niall Aslam, a 23-year-old Student and Construction Worker from Coventry, Eyal Booker a 22-year-old Model from London, and Adam Collard a 22-year-old Personal Trainer and Gym Director from Newcastle.

Also entering the villa on launch night are Jack Fincham, a 26-year-old Stationary Sales Manager from Kent, Dr. Alex George a 27-year-old A&E Doctor from Carmarthen, West Wales plus Wes Nelson, a 20-year-old Electrical and Nuclear Systems Design Engineer from Staffordshire.

Love Island 2018 spoilers

In the first episode, the girls enter the villa before the boys join them one by one.

The girls are instructed to step forward if they like what they see for the first coupling.

With the first five matches finally made, Caroline declares: “We have our five couples. The choices you’ve just made could decide how long you stay in the villa. In your couples, you’ll spend time getting to know one another, taking on challenges together, living together and even sharing a bed together. Sound good, is it too soon to spoon?”

But of course, there’s an immediate spanner thrown into the mix as Caroline declares – “It almost seems a shame to complicate things, but this is Love Island.”

Throwing their first obstacle on their eight week path towards true love, the sixth, and arguably most eye catching eligible male, walks into the villa, and heads are immediately turned.

Caroline then explains that, in order to stay in their couples, the boys are going to have to go into grafting overdrive: “In 24 hours, he will be coupling up with one of your girls, leaving one of you single and vulnerable. Because you know the rules. To stay on Love Island you have to be in a couple. I’m going to leave you lot to get to know each other.
