Love Island isn't about sex, insists host Caroline Flack

Love Island host Caroline Flack has insisted that the show isn't about the sex.

Even if it's what gets a lot of people talking.

Caroline, who has fronted the hit ITV2 series for the past three series now, claimed: “The sex is literally as interesting as them making a cup of tea.

She told The Telegraph this week: “When you’re into the storyline you’re like, ‘Oh no, stop that bit, we just want to hear what you’re going to say.’”

Love Island has proved a huge success this year in particular, with ratings of more than 2 million a night for ITV2.

Up to 3 million are expected to tune in for the live final on Monday, possibly granting ITV2 its largest ever audience.

“People watch it there and then, and they want to talk about it,” Caroline said this week, “because we’ve all been through all those situations they’re going through in there.

"I definitely can relate to every single one: ‘Yeah, done that, been in that, felt like that before. He’s exactly like my ex…’ Do you know what I mean?”

Love Island's third series comes to a close after two months on Monday but before one last trademark twist.

One of Alex and Montana, Gabby and Marcel and Jamie and Camilla will be given the boot on Sunday night.

It follows nominations between the couples last night in a secret vote.

In yesterday evening's episode, Islanders were left shocked by a new text.

Gabby received a message: "Islanders, tonight each couple will secretly vote for one other couple that they think should be dumped from the Island.

"You must now discuss in your couples who you’re going to choose and why, before submitting your decision by text.

"You must not discuss your decision with anyone else. The couples with the most votes face being dumped from the island. #thefinalcountdown”

Marcel reacted: “That’s the worst bombshell that has ever been dropped into this villa.”

Love Island continues nightly on ITV2 at 9PM.
