Love Island set for a new prize money twist this year

Love Island 2017: Caroline Flack

Love Island 2017 could see a new prize money twist this year, it's been suggested.

Host Caroline Flack has spilled that this year's final could see a shake up to the usual format.

In the previous two series, the most popular couple as voted for by the public are each asked in private if they want to steal or share the money.

If both share, they each get £25,000. If both steal, neither gets anything. If one steals and the other shares, the one who steals gets all £50,000.

So far everyone has chosen to share the cash but that could change this year.

Speaking on Sunday Brunch, Caroline teased: "There is £50,000 that they share. If you saw it last year it gets to a point where you can, erm, actually it might change this year so…”

A spokesperson for Love Island would not confirm or deny a change to the previous format, saying only: “We would reveal any format twist to the viewers in due course.”

Meanwhile, Caroline has shared her views on which couple could top the public vote in the final.

Speaking of Chris and Olivia, Caroline hinted their turbulent relationship could help them win: "Their relationship to me feels so real, that bickering, that not quite sure yet because it is so early, if they like each other enough.

"Chris had some tears, I think they could win."

On favourites Amber and Kem, Caroline added: "It’s been so gripping watching their love story. They are obviously passionate about each other and are clearly attracted."

Also in the final tonight are Marcel & Gabby and Jamie & Camilla.

The Love Island 2017 final date is TODAY with the live show hosted by Caroline on tonight, Monday, July 24 at 9PM.
