There was a shock double exit in tonight's Love Island 2017 results.

It was Jessica Shears and Mike Thalassitis who left Love Island 2017 tonight in the surprise double exit.

Over the past two days, viewers have been voting for their favourite of the official couples: Mike and Olivia, Chris and Chloe, Sam and Montana, Kem and Amber, Dom and Jess, Jonny and Camilla and Marcel and Gabby.

In this evening's show, Caroline Flack gatecrashed a party as she arrived in the villa to reveal the three couples with the lowest votes.

The three couples were:

Chloe and Chris
Jessica and Dom
Olivia and Mike

Caroline then announced that a couple of Islanders would be leaving - but not necessarily those who were coupled up.

Of the remaining islanders, the safe girls (Montana, Camilla, Gabby and Amber) had to decide decide one of the three boys to dump.

Montana gave their decision: “It hasn’t been an easy decision. We don’t want to see any of you leave. We were weighing up that some people have had longer opportunities to settle into the group. We do feel that we have loyalties to people that have been here for longer. So we have decided to send home Mike.”

Mike admitted: "Truthfully I am a bit gutted. I feel like I had more to give and my time was cut a lot shorter than I thought it would be."

Then the safe boys - Jonny, Kem, Marcel and Sam - had to dump one of the girls.

Jonny gave the decision: “Girls, let me just say first, we love you all. You’re such amazing people. The decision that we’ve come to is purely based on people that we have been closer to on the journey here. The person we have chosen to be dumped from the island is Jess.”

Jessica said after her exit: "I feel slightly disappointed, I would have liked to have been in there longer. But it has been an amazing experience, and I have learnt a lot about myself. I went in there looking for love and came out of there with a best friend and an amazing guy, so it feels like in many ways I’ve won whether I stayed until the end or not."

Jess and Mike then leave the villa.

A distraught Dom reacts: “Even when I broke up with my ex it didn’t feel like this. It's killing me."
