TWO couples have been given the boot from Love Island 2016 in tonight's results but who went?

Tonight's Love Island latest saw Caroline Flack return to the villa with bad news for Lauren Whiteside & Adam Jukes and Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodham as the four were evicted.

With the fewest votes in the public vote, they had lost their places in the show with just days to go before the final.

Yesterday see the final recoupling of the series which left Tina going home.

Once the couples were confirmed last night, the public had the chance to save their favourite via a vote on the app.

This evening saw Caroline return to the villa to deliver the results.

After the safe couples were confirmed, Terry & Emma and Lauren & Adam J, were left eliminated.

Terry told Caroline: “I’ve had such a good journey. I’m leaving here a bigger and better person. It’s had its highs and its lows but all in all it’s been amazing.”

Emma added: “All the couples [left] in there are so strong and they’ve got such a bond, I don’t feel bad that we’ve come out.”

As for Adam & Lauren, the pair were last in to the villa and admitted in the latest task they weren't happy together so their exit was not much of a shock to them who admitted they 'saw it coming'.

Love Island continues nightly on ITV2 with the final LIVE this Monday evening as one couple wins £50,000.
