There's trouble in paradise for Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde in tonight's Love Island.
Cara explained that Malin’s exit had hit her hard and that she felt Nathan hadn’t been there for her when she needed him most.
Cara said: “I’m like standing there crying downstairs, sobbing. Did you even come over to me and give me a hug or ask me if I was alright? No. That’s not normal.”
Nathan replied: “You keep saying you don’t want to change me right? I am who I am.”
But Cara added: “I just want someone who cares about me and shows it.”
Nathan said: “You saying I don’t care about you?”
Cara replied: “Not tonight you ain’t.”
Nathan said: “You put on a lot of rules for people.”
Cara continued: “I don’t. I ain’t talking about this with you now, if you want to talk about it we go downstairs and talk about it. I ain’t talking about it in front of everyone.”
As the couple’s debate began to get heated, they moved downstairs so they could discuss their differences in private.
Nathan said: “I just feel a bit like I’m walking on eggshells. Every little thing I do at the minute is upsetting her. It’s pretty hard.”
Cara said: “My best friend has just gone yeah and I spent all night on my own wanting you to come over and give me a hug and ask ‘You alright Cara’? All night’s that’s all I’ve wanted. When we were in the living room saying bye to Ma[lin] and I was devastated, crying, you didn’t come up to me and give me a hug. I can’t for the life of me work out – if you care about someone and see them crying and can see that they’re hurting, why you wouldn’t just take two seconds to go up to them and go ‘You alright’? I want someone to look after me a bit Nath. Your priority is everyone else and not me.”
Nathan said: “I’m an upbeat person.”
Cara said: “Well obviously then I’m not good for you then am I, so don’t be with me.”
Nathan said: “That’s such a silly little answer. You’re so insecure Cara, you really are. It’s shocked me. When I first met you I thought you were so strong and independent, but you ain’t.”
Cara said: “I am insecure, I’m really insecure.”
Nathan said: “When I first met you, you put a guard up and I didn’t expect it. I’m not mugging you off, but I thought you were a lot stronger than what you are. I’m going to be the bigger man, I apologise. I should have come up to you and see if you was alright.
The pair moved back up to the bedroom where Cara asked Nathan to hug her. Still frustrated, Nathan told her: “Talking to you is like hitting my head against a brick wall. You’re a f***ing nightmare.”
Love Island continues at 9PM tonight on ITV2
