Adam Maxted can't choose between Tina Stinnes and Liana Isadora Van Riel on Love Island 2016.
Yesterday, as the only single boy in the villa, Adam deliberated over which single girl to couple up with.
After spending the night with Tina in the downstairs bed, Olivia quizzes Adam about his feelings. Feeling as if Tina needs to make more effort with him, Adam confessed: “I don’t know anymore. I’m just not feeling it. She hasn’t spoken to me at all today. With Tina I just find I run out of stuff to say."
Realising that Adam and Tina may not be the perfect match, Olivia asked what he thought of the only other single Islander, Liana: “No she’s too plastic all the time, too make-uppy. I need a girl who doesn’t mind being natural and then glammed up. This whole ‘can’t leave the bedroom till the make-ups done’ to come down and sunbathe, that’s not the kind of girl I’m looking for.”
Adam didn’t mince his words when it came to his position in the villa: “Tina’s a nice girl, but she needs me more than I need her at the moment. So I’m not going to try and chase her.”
News of Adam and Olivia’s conversation soon reached Tina, who quickly took objection to Adam’s comments: “What? Are you joking me? I hate it, it’s just arrogant. It’s like ‘Well, she has to make all the effort because she’s single and I’m the only single guy’. No.”
Meanwhile, Adam decided to spend some time getting to know Liana: “When you first came in it seemed a bit much for you. There’s quite big personalities in here so it’s like ‘Where do I fit in’? It can be overwhelming. I don’t feel like we’ve got to know each other too much. We get on well but it’s only now you’re coming out of your shell. I’m sure there’s a lot more about you than just a pretty face.”
Referencing Liana’s poetry reading during the Miss Love Island contest, Adam commended her, saying: “I think it’s great that you didn’t come out and do a strip. It’s good that you showed you have more to you. Girls that do stripping get stereotyped unfairly.”
Pleased that Adam had appreciated her performance, Liana agreed that she had been stereotyped in the past: “Definitely. When you meet guys in a club, they don’t think there’s anything else to you. They think you live there and breathe stripping.”
Still torn between the pair, Adam explained his predicament to Nathan and Terry: “I spoke to Liana, she surprises me a little. She actually has some intelligent things to say. You stereotype a girl that’s a stripper. She’s bonded with the girls now.”
Terry offered Adam some words of wisdom about how to handle the situation: “What you don’t want to be seen to be doing is playing both girls against each other. So you need to have a serious think about what sort of girl you’re going to hone in on a little bit more. It could go t*ts up.”
Love Island airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
