Love Island's Zara Holland BLASTS Miss Great Britain for axing her: "I've done nothing wrong"

Model claims she was never told she couldn't have sex on TV

Zara Holland has BLASTED Miss Great Britain for stripping her of the title after her Love Island 2016 stint, claiming she was never told she couldn't have sex on the ITV2 show.

Zara has made headlines over the past week after Miss GB organisers announced they had "de-crowned" her for getting frisky between the sheets in front of the cameras.

But in her first newspaper interview on the matter, the 20-year-old model told The Sun she'd "done nothing wrong" and shouldn't have been ousted.

"There is nothing wrong with having sex on TV. I knew what I was signing up for - it is Love Island," Zara commented.

"I am a 20-year-old girl who was in the moment. There are lots of girls my age who go out every week and do that — mine was just on national TV. I haven’t committed a crime, so why should I have my title taken from me?"

Zara added that she still doesn't know the exact reason behind Miss GB's decision to axe her.

Pageant bosses said in a statement that she "did not uphold the responsibility expected of the title" and would meet her once she was back in the UK to "fully explain" themselves, but it seems this hasn't yet happened.

"Miss Great Britain did not tell me I couldn’t have sex on the show," she insisted. "They gave a written letter of permission to say I could do Love Island and they haven’t spoken to me since, which I am very confused about.

"The only thing I have seen is a statement on Twitter. I am very disappointed. I put so much time and effort into the Miss GB brand. All the things Miss GB claims to stand for have been used against me."

Although she chose to stay on Love Island after the news broke, Zara - who says she doesn't regret doing the show - later quit due to a family illness.

Her mum has also spoken out against Miss GB's move - although her successor Deone Robertson has supported it.
