Olivia Buckland's concerned she's going to lose Alex Bowen to new girl Liana Isadora Van Riel on Love Island 2016 tonight.

Yesterday we saw Liana decide to break up Olivia and Alex for the night as the newbie went on a date with Olivia's man.

As Alex and Liana got to know each other better on a trip to the spa, Olivia became anxious that, after Alex’s tryst with Zara, history might be repeating itself.

She told the Beach Hut: “This is torture. It’s just the not knowing, that all it is. This is why I don’t get involved with boys. Because they cause you agg.”

She was right to be concerned – during the date, Liana was explicit about her feelings towards Alex: “Not that I don’t care, but…well I don’t care. You’ve only been coupled for one day so it’s not like you’re Nathan and Car and you’re properly together. Do you reckon you two are quite solid or are you keeping your options open?”

“It’s early days," replied Alex. "Are you looking for love?”

Liana told him: “I don’t know. Bit of fun I reckon. That sounds bad. Maybe love, maybe fun.”

Alex quipped: “You’ve come to the right place.”

The pair continued to flirt into the evening but, thankfully for Olivia, Alex wasn’t about to make another mistake, and chose to spend the evening on the sofa.

The news was well received by Olivia, who caught up with Alex on her return to the villa the next day: “The bed situation I am like so happy and kind of shocked that you stayed down here. I didn’t think you’d do it.”

Olivia then decided to approach Liana to clear any awkward atmosphere between the two of them but their exchange did little to ease the tensions.

Liana told the Beach Hut: “It was a bit awkward obviously. Didn’t really have much to say apart from the obvious ‘she likes Alex, I like Alex.’ But we just said we’ll see whatever happens, happens.”

Olivia sought support from the other girls who had her back.

Cara said: “You know where she’s going wrong, she’s not trying to become friendly with the girls.”

Meanwhile the guys were also getting involved to keep Alex and Olivia together.

Terry told him: “That other girl is fit, but I think she’s trouble bruv. But she’s a bird that I’d pick up on Friday night in a club, that’s as far as it would go for me.

"She’s a 20 year old stripper, I just can’t see her wanting to be in a relationship, she’s here for a bit of fun.

"Whereas Liv’s cool mate she’s the sort of girl you can take back to your mum and dad, she’s respectful.”

Love Island airs tonight at 10PM on ITV2.
