An emotional Zara Holland has thanked fans after leaving the Love Island 2016 villa.
Zara was forced to quit the ITV series at the weekend after a member of her family was sadly taken ill over the weekend.
A spokesperson for ITV2 said: "Owing to an illness in the family, Zara Holland has left the Love Island villa to return to the UK.
"Our thoughts are with her and her family and we send all of our best wishes."
Zara herself said in a statement: "I'm so sad to leave the villa but it's important for me to get home and spend time with my mum while she gets better.
"I've had the time of my life on Love Island and would like to thank all of my fellow Islanders and the production team for all their support."
Zara's exit will play out in tonight's show although she's already been on Twitter to send a message to viewers.
"This sums up how I'm feeling, but knowing I've got incredible support makes me feel very humble," she wrote, posting the above picture. "Thank u so much."
Zara leaving follows her losing the Miss Great Britain title last week which show bosses informed her of on Friday.
In scenes that aired on last night's show, Zara was seen sobbing as she told the other Islanders about losing her crown after getting intimate in the hideaway with Alex.
Although there could be hope for her with more than 8,000 people signing a petition to get her the crown back.
Meanwhile, a return for Zara to the villa isn't out of the question either.
A spokesperson for the show explained that in light of the nature of her departure, they would leave the door open for Zara to return should she wish to, depending on circumstances in the villa.
Love Island 2016 airs tonight at the slightly later time of 10PM on ITV2.
