Love Island fake? ITV2 show faces fix claims over couple who already knew each other

Love Island

ITV2's revamped Love Island is under fire over fakery claims after it's been revealed two contestants know one another.

We've seen Jonathan Clark and Hannah Elizabeth quickly couple up and they've remained together despite a series of Love Bombs thrown into the villa by host Caroline Flack.

While it was acknowledged during Love Island's opening episode that the pair had met before it appears they're a lot closer than what was let on.

Hannah and Jon, who also share the same agent, have actually spent "some time" together in both their home county of Essex as well as TOWIE's summer favourite hotspot Marbella.

However a spokesperson for the two insisted that they didn't know the other was taking part in the series.

An ITV spokesman added: “The opening episode of Love Island featured a scene in which Jonathan acknowledged in the Beach Hut that he had met Hannah before the show.

“Both of them live and socialise in Essex and Hannah was a Sugar Hut Honey.

“As far as we are aware, neither knew of the other’s involvement in Love Island until they met in the villa.”

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2.
