Larry began the series as one of the favourites to win, but eventually became the sixth campmate to get the axe in last night's show.
The result was doubly shocking as it was the third day in a row that Martin heard it 'might be him' leaving, only to survive the vote.
Most of the celebs were sad to see the back of their jungle father figure, with Scarlett Moffatt joking: "Larry's gone... it's the silence of the Lamb."
However, Martin confessed that he finally felt "peace" following the exit of his frenemy.
In a heart to heart with Sam Quek yesterday, Martin mused: "I never really felt that he accepted me."
"The group gravitated to you as well," Sam observed. "You handled it well, because in such a small, confined environment 24/7, it is easy just to bite back."
"I gave him a wide berth and just let him be himself," Martin replied. "He didn't really enjoy me being here."
Sam told Martin that she tried to persuade Larry that he meant no offence. "You could tell you didn't mean any harm," the Olympian continued. "You obviously bowled in new to the group and did your thing."
Martin later visited the Bush Telegraph to sum up his thoughts.
"If I'm honest I feel today that for me, a peace has descended in camp that wasn't there before," he explained. "But no-one else would say that."
I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9.30pm on ITV, ahead of the grand final on Sunday at 9.00pm.
