Scarlett Moffatt cried on meeting Danny Baker in the I'm A Celebrity 2016 camp.
Yesterday, Ant and Dec entered the camp and told the campmates that two new celebrities would be joining them: Danny and Homes Under the Hammer presenter Martin Roberts.
Joel said: “Martin just seems like the nicest. He’s got the smiliest head ever. He is like the human version of the smiley emoticon.”
Adam said: “A breath of fresh air with our two new campmates. I don’t think it’s going to be as plain sailing as that though. I’m thinking maybe there might be a bit of a divide in the camp. Let the games begin.”
Carol told Martin what a happy camp they were. “”We’re a really happy crowd.”
“That comes over” replied Martin. “I was a bit worried because you’ve got a great group already so it’s going to be very hard for someone coming in.”
“But you’re a happy bloke” said Carol. And Sam added as long as you’re easy going and you enjoy a good laugh it’s all good.”
Later Martin said “I couldn’t not have had a nicer welcome. Wow. They are really a nice bunch of people.
Danny had a particularly profound effect on Scarlett who ended up crying that she met him. “I couldn’t be more proud to be here” he said.
Scarlett said as she welled up “I am living the 90s childhood dream. I just feel really overwhelmed. I’m with like Baker and Vorderman. It’s just I literally watch telly for a living. That is what I do and I’m in here with like absolute legends that I am proper fan girling over. I almost feel like I don’t deserve to be here.”
However Danny and Martin’s arrival would inevitably change the dynamic of the group and the original campmates discussed what impact their arrival might have on them.
Larry said “As far as I’m concerned it’s good to have some new blood at this point because we’ve all been together six days and at least they seem like two nice guys.”
He added: “Over the course so this week we’re a family unit had evolved from a group of disparate strangers and so now two more people come in who must be feeling very strange already the family’s different.”
Scarlett admitted “We were all starting to get into a routine and really comfortable like now I feel like everything’s been turned upside down again.”
She said in camp “We’ve still got to make sure that they don’t feel left out.”
Later she said “The game’s started about now. We need to find out what role they’re going to take. Are they going to take over someone else’s role? Who knows?”
