Homes Under The Hammer host Martin Roberts rumoured for I'm A Celebrity 2016

Martin Roberts on Homes Under The Hammer

Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts is the latest name in the frame for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2016.

The 53-year-old is best known as one of the faces of the BBC daytime property show, which he's hosted since 2003.

Now The Sun claims he has signed up to head to Australia for the latest series of I'm A Celebrity.

A source said: "Martin is a hugely popular daytime presenter, regularly watched by around a million people every day.

"They’re hoping Martin will draw in the housewives' vote and think his quick wit and fun side will really come through on the show."

"He’s naturally very funny, but BBC1 viewers normally only get snippets from him as he goes from auction to auction on Homes Under the Hammer. Producers reckon he’ll go down well with viewers."

It wouldn't be Martin's first spell as a reality TV contestant. In 2010, he took part in Celebrity Masterchef, but was eliminated after the first round.

I'm A Celebrity is due to return to ITV for its sixteenth series in around two weeks' time.

It could be more terrifying than ever, with bosses apparently ordering half a million bugs for the Bushtucker Trials.

Other rumoured contestants include Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt, former Eastenders actor Larry Lamb, and Olympian Sam Quek.
