Absolutely Fabulous star Helen Lederer is set to join I'm A Celebrity after 'snubbing' Celebrity Big Brother.

Helen had been tipped to take part in this summer's latest run of CBB and was on a leaked line up of stars.

But she didn't enter on launch night and now it's been reported that the comic will instead be appearing on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on ITV in the autumn.

According to The Sun newspaper, Helen has already signed a deal ahead of the series beginning in November.

It supposedly follows "weeks of negotiations" with CBB chiefs about joining their show.

Apparently Helen almost joined the house back in 2009, revealing to the tabloid previously: “They did ask me once before but I was doing Calendar Girls and I was quite pleased they wouldn’t let me out."

"How do people wash with their swimming costumes on?" she told The Sun. “It’s disgusting.

“But I think in the Celebrity version at least you can close the door when you need a private moment.”

Helen, who previously took part in ITV's Splash and Celebrity Masterchef, added: "My daughter would disapprove and if I do go into the CBB house I think I might have a nervous breakdown.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5 while I'm A Celebrity is back on ITV later this year.
