Celebrity Big Brother bosses have reportedly rejected Nigel Farage after he demanded a £750,000 fee.
The figure would have definitely been Celebrity Big Brother's highest ever pay out but apparently it was just too much.
However it's been said that I'm A Celebrity producers have doubled their £250,000 offer to get the former UKIP leader in the jungle later on this year.
“Farage is keen to appear on reality TV but he is asking for far too much money," a source told The Sun newspaper today. “He has been in talks with CBB but insisted he wanted £750,000 to take part."
The Daily Star newspaper had previously reported that ITV were keen to secure Farage and had offered him a £250,000 deal.
A source said at the time: “This year, everyone is talking about Brexit, so producers are desperate to snare one of the biggest names from the Leave campaign for the jungle to make it the most talked about series yet.
“Farage is a win with British voters – so producers think viewers would be keen to pick up the phone and nominate him to be covered in cockroaches or fish guts."
The politician recently said there was "no way" he would be taking part, but could the rumoured new £500,000 offer change his mind?
Farage certainly wouldn't be the first politician to join the jungle: Other names from past series have included Edwina Currie, Lembit Opik and Neil Hamilton.
But for now, Celebrity Big Brother launches tonight on Channel 5 while I'm A Celebrity airs on ITV from November.
