I'm A Celebrity 2016 to give Spencer Matthews a second chance after steroid scandal?

ITV reportedly offers Chelsea boy £50,000 deal after he cleaned up his act

Former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews is reportedly set to make a sensational return to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! - a year after he was axed from the show in a steroid controversy.

Spencer was one of a trio of reality TV stars who arrived late to last year's series - but just two days later ITV announced that he'd left on "medical grounds".

It was later revealed that producers decided he couldn't stay after he admitted to taking steroids, with Spencer saying: "Taking these pills was a serious error of judgment. I loved every minute of being in the jungle. Hoping for another shot at it someday."

Since then, the 26-year-old has largely kept out of the public eye, and spent a period in Africa doing charity work.

And it seems Spencer's efforts to clean up his act may have won him that second chance, as The Mirror claims that ITV has offered him a £50,000 deal to return for this year's series.

"Spencer was cut up at being chucked out of the jungle and has worked hard all year to change his ways," an insider commented.

"He’s steered clear of big-money trashy telly like Celebrity Big Brother, has kept in touch with the team at I’m A Celeb and wants to make it up to his family and fans."

I'm A Celeb will be back for it's sixteenth(!) series in November, and other names rumoured to be heading Down Under this year include Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei and Sam Reece, ex-boyfriend of CBB's Stephanie Davis.
