Tensions in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here jungle simmered over yesterday when Alfonso Riberio snapped at Matthew Wright for correcting his grammar.

The argument erupted when the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star spoke about the 'maximum' number of days there would be before the first elimination vote - and the journalist pointed out that he should have used the word 'minimum'.

Alfonso exploded: “Matthew enough! Enough! OK enough! I’ve had enough of your f***ing sh**. I’m done with you talking about it.”

Matthew continued to insist Alfonso said maximum instead of minimum and told him: “You can apologise to me later Alfonso.”

Alfonso said: “I’ve had enough of his ass, I’m done with him saying every time I say something ‘no you are wrong, I’m right you are wrong’ well no you are f***ing not! I will take respect in a debate rather than you are f***ing wrong.”

Later, Matthew said he’d given Alfonso the chance to apologise for the 'completely unnecessary outburst', but added: "If he chooses not to then I’ll go over and see if I can encourage him to close it.

"He’s very emotional right now but I’ll let things go a little while longer and then see if I can make peace with him.”

Meanwhile, Alfonso explained his side of things to the other celebrities, and Steve Davis suggested that Alfonso spoke to Matthew.

“We all become part brain dead out here and don’t express ourselves as eloquently as we normally do and I’ve witnessed and experienced what he’s like and now I’m like enough!" reflected Alfonso.

Steve pointed out that Matthew wasn’t being personal at all. "You notice when you drew him out he wasn’t shaken by that he considers that was a good discussion he was presenting and can’t understand why you lost it because from his perspective that was a good discussion."

The snooker champ later told the Bush Telegraph: "I think it’s very difficult for Alfonso coming into this environment and not knowing any of the personalities and difficult for him to grasp the humour and specifically Matthew’s role in life and how he’s got where he has. So naturally those two were going to clash and there is no-where to hide here in the jungle.”

I'm A Celebrity 2013 continues nightly on ITV.
