The first night of this year's series saw the contestants compete in a race across the deserted Stradbroke Island off Australia's Gold Coast.
Bosses split the line-up in to two teams and gave each a GPS system to help them reach checkpoints, where they'd find two more celebs. The first team to reach each checkpoint got to choose which of the two would join them.
The red team managed to triumph at all three checkpoints, starting with Steve Davis and Joey Essex, before adding Rebecca Adlington, Amy Willerton and Laila Morse.
This left yellow team Lucy Pargeter and Alfonso Ribeiro trailing behind, as they welcomed Kian Egan, Matthew Wright and David Emanuel - and as they failed the task, they were left to spend the night on the wasteland.
Reacting to the news, Matthew acknowleged that it would be a 'long night' - but added: "I was expecting some sort of hideous hole and in fact it’s just nothing. It’s a stretch of land with a bit of space with a gas cooker in it."
David commented: "This is without any shadow of a doubt the most basic sleep I'll ever have in my life. I'm trying to find a little wardrobe." He said as he hung his white tuxedo jacket on a nearby branch.
Alfonso - famous for hit sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air - said: "The idea that we're going to be in this campsite could possibly be the most miserable thing I've ever done."
Needless to say, the group found it hard to make it through the night - with Matthew struggling to make it to sleep, and Alfonso complaining that his 'whole body ached' as he woke up.
Kian was more positive however, beaming: "I had a great night's sleep!"
Meanwhile, the winning red team was rewarded with one last night of luxury, enjoying a champagne dinner on a swanky yacht.
"We're so lucky, but at the same time we're very aware that tomorrow it all starts," observed Amy.
The celebrities will remain in their teams over the next few days as part of the usual camp divide twist.
