Steve Davis and Joey Essex successfully led their teammates to one last night of luxury in the first challenge of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2013.
The pair begun their jungle journies by boarding a swanky yacht on a Gold Coast marina, where they met fellow contestants Lucy Pargeter and Alfonso Ribeiro.
But their joy was short lived as show hosts Ant and Dec arrived via speedboat to inform the foursome that they'd be split in to pairs, before facing a skydive to the location of a treasure trail.
Steve and Joey became the red team, with Lucy and Alfonso as the yellows, and they soon arrived at Stradbroke Island, a desolate and barren wasteland - where they found out that they'd race against each other to create their own 'dream teams'.
Each pair had to use GPS systems to reach checkpoints, where they'd find two more stars from the line-up. The first team to reach each checkpoint would get the choice of who joined them.
Lucy became confident that she and Alfonso would triumph - as Steve was stuck with notorious dimwit Joey, who said: "I'm not good at GPS. Are these like man bags?"
However, Joey had his own strategy, with Steve explaining: "It’s important that we win because Joey has told me that he wants to pick birds that are well fit."
Waiting at the first checkpoint were Kian Egan and Rebecca Adlington, who was thrilled to meet one of her Westlife idols. "I was a big fan growing up. I'm not even going to pretend I've not been to loads of your concerts," she squealed.
Against all odds, Joey and Steve beat their rivals, and didn't hesistate to choose Olympic swimmer Rebecca. "I think we go with fit in all senses of the word," commented Steve.
Their winning streak continued as the trio arrived at the second checkpoint, choosing model Amy Willerton over talkshow host Matthew Wright.
With the yellow team trailing behind, the reds were also first to arrive at the last checkpoint - where they passed on designer David Emanuel in favour of EastEnders actress Laila Morse.
"I don't mind eating testicle and penises. As long as they ain't hard," joked Laila about the trials ahead.
Therefore, at the end of the race, the teams stood as follows:
- Red team: Steve Davis, Joey Essex, Rebecca Adlington, Amy Willerton, Laila Morse
- Yellow team: Lucy Pargeter, Alfonso Ribeiro, Kian Egan, Matthew Wright, David Emanuel
As the champions, the reds were whisked away for a final night of pampering before they entered the jungle - while the yellows were left stranded on the island.
Matthew blamed himself for the yellows' failure, musing: "I feel completely done in and I'm responsible I guess. But we are going to have a laugh, aren't we?!"
The celebs will remain in their teams for the next few days, living apart from each other in separate camps in the annual divide twist.
