I'm A Celebrity 2013 profiles: Meet the stars in this year's jungle line-up!

Yesterday, ITV finally ended weeks of speculation by confirming the identities of this year's jungle stars, with six guys and four girls giving up their luxury lifestyles for three weeks to slum it in the Australian outback for our entertainment.

Age: 42
Famous for: Playing Carlton Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Relationship Status: Single
Phobias: Snakes, lizards, creepy crawlies, claustrophobia
Missing any special occasions? "I am a big sports fan and I am missing some events but nothing comes close to the fact I have a newborn son"

Alfonso is best known for appearing alongside Hollywood star Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air between 1990 and 1996. Elsewhere, he's hosted several American gameshows and taken part in talent contests Celebrity Duets and Dancing With The Stars.

Speaking about his decision to join I'm A Celebrity, Alfonso says: "I accepted the offer because it was a chance to conquer some fears of mine,” he explains. "I have not actually seen much of I’m A Celebrity, which is the reason why I am doing it. If I had seen more of it, I would probably say ‘hell no’."

Age: 21
Famous for: Modelling, winning Signed by Katie Price
Relationship Status: Single

Amy rose to the public's attention when she beat reality star Rylan Clark to win Signed By Katie Price, the two-time former I'm A Celebrity contestant's 2011 talent contest. However, she declined the chance to sign to Price's management company. Her most recent endeavour was representing the UK in the Miss Universe 2013 pageant - but although she didn't win, she was the first UK candidate to make its top ten contestants in thirty years.

"This is such a great life experience,” says Amy. "I am ready to give the challenges a go because you do have the responsibility of feeding everyone. I want to try and bring as many stars back as possible. I don’t want to let anybody down."

Age: 60
Famous for: Co-designing Princess Diana's wedding dress
Relationship Status: Divorced
Phobias: "Everything, anything – you name it. Claustrophobia, heights, creepy crawlies..."
Missing any special occasions? "It’s my birthday in the jungle! Also, the Emanuel family get together in the last weekend for a special Christmas get-together."

Welshman David is a fashion designer who, along with his then wife Elizabeth, created the dress worn Princess Diana wore during her wedding to Prince Charles. He's also dressed some of the world's most iconic celebrities, including Shirley Bassey, Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Collins and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

David says: "I am a pretty level headed person. I don’t like bullying or bi*ching. I am surrounded by bi*ching and competitiveness and I take it all in my stride. I’d like to think there will be a few pretty blondes in there who I can be a shoulder to cry on!"

Age: 23
Famous for: Appearing on ITV2's The Only Way Is Essex
Relationship Status: Single
Phobias: Any creepy crawlies - “I wash my hands even when I have touched a dog.”

Perma-tanned Joey is one of the most popular stars of The Only Way Is Essex, ITV2's hit scripted reality show. He's used to having his life play out on telly, with storylines including his relationship with fellow cast member Sam Faiers, which ended earlier this year. Currently single, Joey says he's open to chatting up girls in the jungle.

"Five years ago, I started watching the show and now I really can’t believe I am going to be going in the jungle,” comments Joey. "I am so happy. I am actually lost for words because I am so excited.

"I want people to have fun and have a laugh. I am an active person and I can never sit still. I am always on the go and so I will be like ‘come on let’s go and play hide and seek’. I would like to think that I would be the joker of the camp."

Age: 33
Famous for: Member of boyband Westlife
Relationship Status: Married
Phobias: None - "but the coffin challenge is, for me, the worst one"

Kian is known to millions of girls as one fifth - and later one quarter - of Westlife, one of the most successful boybands of all time. During the early stages of their career, they became the first act ever to top the charts with their first seven singles - and by 2010 they bagged a Guinness World Record for being the top-selling album act of the 21st century. The boys eventually decided to part ways last year, and since then Kian has joined The Voice Of Ireland as a coach.

"Of course it would be amazing to win it but my aim is to go in and have a good time,” muses Kian. “It’s a big adventure and I am really looking forward to the whole experience. My wife, Jodi, is really supportive. She thinks I will be able to cope with it very well."

Actress Laila has been a regular fixture on our TV screens since 2000, when she joined juggernaut soap EastEnders as 'Big' Mo Harris. Elsehwhere, she's appeared in The Bill and 1997 film Nil-By-Mouth - which was directed by her brother, Hollywood star Gary Oldman. She's also no stranger to reality TV, having competed in Hell's Kitchen, Come Dine With Me and Dancing On Ice.

"I am looking forward to meeting the other celebrities and hopefully they will be a nice bunch of people and they will like chatting through the night," Laila ponders. "I am not an early to bed person. I hope there will be someone who I can chat to as otherwise I will have to bang a few cans!"

Age: 36
Famous For: Playing Chas Dingle in Emmerdale
Relationship Status: Engaged
Phobias: "None but I cannot sit still for five minutes. I don’t do well with boredom."

Soap actress Lucy is best known for being part of the notorious Dingle clan on Emmerdale, joining in 2002 as Chas. She previously portrayed Helen Raven in the early 2000s revival of Crossroads, and in 2006 she came third in the first series of Soapstar Superstar.

"I am bricking myself now about going into the jungle,” admits Lucy. "You start thinking ‘Why am I doing it? Why am I putting myself through it?’ I do tend to make all my decisions in life on the spur of the moment. I don’t really think about it.

"There is nothing I am really petrified of as a lot of it is mind over matter. You have not got any choice and you have to do it."

Age: 48
Famous For: Being the face of Channel 5's The Wright Stuff
Relationship Status: Married
Phobias: "Absolutely terrified of spiders"

Matthew is an outspoken journalist, who's written for red-top newspapers The Sun, The Mirror and The Daily Star. However, he's best known for his eponymous talkshow The Wright Stuff, which has aired regularly on weekdays on Channel 5 since 2000. He has regularly made headlines himself for causing controversy - most notably in 2002 when he mistakenly named John Leslie as the TV presenter who had allegedly raped Ulrika Jonsson.

Matthew insists he's doing I'm A Celebrity to face his fears, not further his career. "It’s not just spiders. I have a fear of heights, I don’t like creepy crawlies and I am quite a fearful person underneath my tough, journalistic exterior," he says. "It’s getting worse as I am getting older.

"The irony is that I am an outdoors person. I love going off camping under the stars, I have been out in the woods with Ray Mears and I go up mountains fly-fishing."

Age: 24
Famous For: Winning two gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games
Relationship Status: Engaged
Phobias: "I do get claustrophobic"

Rebecca became one of the nation's most loved athletes after she brought home two gold medals from the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, in the 400m and 800m freestyle swimming events. She was successful again in last year's London games, securing two bronze medals in the same categories - but she later decided to retire from the sport.

Rebecca reckons I'm A Celebrity is a chance for her to 'do something different' in her life. She comments: "I am looking forward to being part of a team again. Since I retired, I have missed that team environment and so I am really looking forward to feeling like a big family, enjoying working together and being part of all the banter."

Age: 56
Famous For: Winning the most professional snooker titles
Relationship Status: Long-term relationship
Phobias: "I may appear stupid, but do you really think I’d let you know what I am scared of?!"
Missing any special occasions? "Yes, the UK Snooker Championships"

Iconic snooker starr Steve has made waves for winning more professional titles in the sport than any other player. His many accolades include six UK Championships, six World Championships and three Masters. During the 1980s, he was the world number one for seven years running - and he was also the first snooker millionaire. Steve still plays professionally, while also appearing on television as a commentator.

"Many people lead comfy lives these days so a little deprivation is perhaps good for the soul,” he observes. "Like many viewers, I'd like to know, faced with a plate of animal innards or a cockroach filled space helmet, whether I could handle it.

"And now as it is getting closer, I’m feeling more excited but the trepidation Richter scale is rising fast!”
