Eric Bristow's manager has reportedly threatened to call in lawyers over how he has been portrayed on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
The show's edited highlights packages have often featured the five time darts champion - who was voted out by viewers last night - making negative or nasty comments to his fellow campmates.
Targets included Helen Flanagan, whose beauty regime he criticised, saying: "You’ve got a fantastic diet at home. That’s what’s done your skin."
According to The Sun, Eric's team became suspicious after eliminated contestants kept praising the 'Crafty Cockney' in their exit interviews and have since complained to producers, accusing them of stitching him up.
His 19-year-old son James told the newspaper: "I am really p***** off with the way dad’s been made to look. The edit’s been totally unfair and I know his manager is talking to lawyers about it.
“The feeling was that things can’t get any worse — otherwise we will go for ITV and cause them huge problems.
He continued: "He’s not a bully. He has a 21-year-old daughter himself, so would never be intentionally cruel to anyone else’s. They’ve painted him as a real nasty piece of work at points, which is so unfair and frustrating to watch."
However, the broadcaster rejected the claims and said he had been edited fairly.
An 'ITV source' responded: "We haven’t heard from Eric’s lawyers. We always make a fair representation of what goes on in the camp. If something hasn’t been said, we can’t include it in the programme."
I'm A Celebrity 2012 concludes tomorrow night on ITV1.
