I'm A Celebrity bosses have been accused of missing signs that Brian Conley was ill in the jungle
The comic was forced out of the show and taken to hospital last week after suffering from exhaustion and malnutrition in camp.
Brian revealed how he woke up in a bed unaware of what had happened, explaining: " I woke up with a saline drip in my arm thinking, 'what on earth has happened here?'
"I'm lying in hospital being heavily sedated with a saline drip because I suffer from malnutrition and exhaustion, all because of a lovely, fluffy show that Ant and Dec do.
"I can tell you it's not fluffy out there, it's the real world."
However the son of celeb camper Eric Bristow, James, claims that other stars tried to warn bosses.
He told The Sun: “There were a good four days where everyone knew Brian wasn’t right but nothing was done.”
And James claimed that two of the celebs - Linda Robson and David Haye - had even taken off their mics to speak privately with producers in the bush telegraph.
He told the newspaper today: “It is quite shocking and has made me worry about my dad in there.
“What if something happens and they don’t step in?”
A spokesperson ITV commented: “The safety and welfare of contestants is always paramount. Medical personnel are on hand 24 hours a day.”
Brian released a statement at the weekend saying he was on "top form" and thanking fans for his support.
He said: “I want everyone to know that I’m back on top form, fighting fit and delighted to be back with my family.
“I’ve read all the messages sent to my Twitter account and have been genuinely touched by all the kind words and good wishes.”
He added: “I really want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I’ll be back soon making you all laugh.”
