The 'Too Shy' singer lasted eight days in the jungle, having joined the camp as a late entrant with Rosemary Shrager on Day 6. He was in tonight's bottom two with Made In Chelsea star Hugo Taylor.
Reacting to the result in his interview, Limahl - real name Christopher Hamill - joked: "It's a complete surprise, where's the gay vote? What happened?! I came in late to Kajagoogoo and they fired me, it was history repeating itself!
"It's a test, you're away from your home comforts, away from your loved ones, and the other personalities, that was the biggest test, the biggest surprise."
Talking about his entry challenge - which saw him spending his first night locked in a critter-filled shack with Rosemary - he said: "That was horrible. What a way to come in. I think it could have been different was someone else, there was a real chemistry between us."
Limahl defended the celebrity chef's sometimes overbearing presence, saying: "She runs a cooking course and she's a little bit bossy in the kitchen.
"I was fine with it, but you're dealing with all these personalities, you're gonna ruffle feathers. I loved her, what gay man doesn't like large ladies?"
He also had kind words for Eric Bristow, who's proving to be a polarising figure. "He's a blunt instrument. I actually like Eric, I found him very funny and he kept things lively for me, He's totally a straight talker, calls a spade a spade."
The 53-year-old ended by talking about the mood in camp. "The hunger is palpable. In a normal house, the evening meal is a huge social thing as well as nutritional, so when you know there's a good meal coming it changes everything."
I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow at 9.00pm with the third elimination.
