I'm A Celebrity 2012: Was Helen Flanagan faking her nerves?

I'm A Celebrity's Helen Flanagan has been accused of faking her nerves.

The Corrie babe struggled in her first five bushtucker trials, winning no stars whatsoever.

But somehow she won all twelve last night, and went on to win another five in the live trial.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “We’ve been keeping a very close eye on Helen and have been quite worried about her at times, but this was such a dramatic turn-around it has got everyone wondering if she might be playing more of a game than we had previously realised.

“She may well have believed that all the nervous routines and mini-meltdowns would win favour with the public, but once that didn’t work, she has tried a different tactic and gone to the other extreme.

“She is an actress after all. Maybe she’s more talented than people realised.”

Another show insider told the newspaper: “I’m pretty convinced that Helen has been faking some of her hysterics – however much she denies it.

“It’s Gillian McKeith all over again. Helen is playing a game – she’s cleverer than anyone has given her credit for."

They added: “She could really use this show to boost her career and everyone out here now thinks she’s got a plan in place to do exactly that and keep herself on screen for as long as possible.”

If it is a plan, it's certainly not working.

Charlie Brooks is the new favourite in one of the closest editions of I'm a Celebrity ever according to Ladbrokes.

The actress better known as Janine Butcher has emerged as the clear 7/2 favourite over the weekend leaving the next four contestants all tied at 11/2. The bookies then can't split Brian, David, Rosemary and Eric leaving Colin as the only other celebrity with single figure odds (8/1).

Helen Flanagan also drifts out to 16/1 despite an early bikini-inspired gamble which saw her odds collapse to 4/1 last week.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "We can't split the front runners. It's looking like one of the closest editions in years with Charlie the new flavour."

He added: "Helen was all the rage in the early stages but the novelty is clearly starting to wear off."
