I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here under fire for ostrich trial

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has come under fire for using an ostrich in one of it's trials.

Last week saw Helen Flanagan take on the Cruelty Towers trial, which saw her search for stars in a mock hotel with different animals in each.

But bosses have been blast by RSPCA official Michael Beatty for putting an ostrich in one of the small hotel rooms.

And he warned that Helen Flanagan could have easily been killed if the animal became stressed.

He said: “The ostrich could have easily got distressed and lashed out.

“It would have used its feet like claws to tear into Helen, ripping her stomach open. She could have been seriously injured or killed.”

RSPCA inspectors are apparently investigating the trial.

Tonight's show will see the first live trial of the series, and Helen Flanagan is favourite to be voted to take part by the pubic.

The challenge will see one of the contestants attempt to collect as many meals as they can for their campmates – with the pressure of the real-time broadcast giving them little time to prepare for whatever horrors they must face.

However, unlike the normal challenges, the other campmates will be present to watch the events unfold and cheer them on.

Hosts Ant and Dec announced the news just moments after revealing that Helen Flanagan will also face her sixth trial, ‘Deadly Delivery’.

The results of that and the live trial will air tonight from 9PM on BBC One.
