Conservative MP Nadine Dorries wasted no time in starting a political discussion as she begun settling in to the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here jungle.
Nadine is living in the Snake Rock camp with Ashley Roberts, Colin Baker, Eric Bristow and Hugo Taylor after bosses split up the group - and Made In Chelsea star Hugo was curious to know more about her day job.
"In Westminster, politicians really have to crack out of this fusty old fashioned impression everybody has," commented [tag t="Nadine Dorries"]Nadine[/tag]. "They think everybody lives in landed estates, everybody’s out of touch with real people.
"I think MPs have really got a responsibility given all the bad press we’ve had recently to get out of Westminster and communicate with people on a different level. That’s one of the reasons why I’m here."
[tag t="Hugo Taylor"]Hugo[/tag] responded saying that he'd been advised to avoid politics and religion if he wanted a television career - and suggested that MPs should stick to more appropriate outlets, such as the BBC Parliament channel.
"We just don’t communicate with enough people that way," Nadine argued. "16 million people watch this programme. 16 million people do not watch Prime Minister’s Question Time or Question Time."
The 55-year-old later had to further defend her profession when [tag t="Eric Bristow"]Eric[/tag] branded MPs 'liars'. He explained his views in the Bush Telegraph: "They want to get the job. They promise you this and that.
"They get voted in then they haven’t got the money to do it. They might mean what they say at the time, but they never deliver."
Meanwhile, ex-Doctor Who Colin said he expects Nadine to be voted for the Bushtucker Trials as the public has a 'great disrespect' for politicians.
