According to The Sun, the 53-year-old - real name Christopher Hamill - will join camp next week alongside celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, once the other contestants have just settled in.
Known for his old black and white mullet hairstyle, Limahl rose to fame as the frontman of Kajagoogoo, who reached the top of the charts with 'Too Shy'.
He later launched a solo career and scored a top five hit with 'The NeverEnding Story', from the film of the same name.
A source told the newspaper: "Producers have been thinking about getting Limahl on board for a while. The show always likes to have someone from the golden days of pop."
Limahl is said to be pocketing a £40,000 fee for his appearance.
Corrie actress Helen Flanagan, comedian Brian Conley and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts are among the ten faces making the way into the jungle during tomorrow's launch show, at 9.00pm on ITV1.
