I'm A Celebrity 2012: Nadine Dorries won't quit show despite Tory party suspension

Nadine Dorries (I'm A Celebrity 2012)

Tory MP Nadine Dorries won't quit I'm A Celebrity, despite being suspended from the party.

Conservative MP for Mid-Bedfordshire Nadine reckons Westminster has proved a fantastic training ground for her stint as the first-ever serving politician to appear on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

However the MP was unaware she had been suspended from the Tory Party on Tuesday after agreeing to take part in the show without permission from her superiors.

ITV producers delivered the news last night, but Nadine has said she'll remain in Australia.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “She didn’t really react — it was more of an ‘OK’. But she said she wouldn’t quit the show.”

Speaking in Australia, Nadine said: “I know there will be a backlash that I am going on this show, but I would like to point out that I have never before taken a week away in Parliamentary time whereas a lot of other MPs have.”

Before she flew out to Australia, Nadine didn’t tell any of her fellow politicians but she reckons the leader of her party and the Prime Minster, David Cameron, will be ‘relieved’ she is away.

“I am a thorn in his side. He will be relieved.”
