Great British Bake Off 2019 begins tonight on Channel 4 but what time does it start on TV on and who are the judges and hosts?

Here we round up all the latest news and spoilers about the Great British Bake Off 2019 on Channel 4 this year.

Great British Bake Off start time

Channel 4 previously confirmed that the 2019 Bake Off would begin on Tuesday, August 27.

The new continues begins tonight at 8PM with episode week - it's Bread Week.

Episodes will air weekly for 75 minutes between 8PM and 9:15PM.

Great British Bake Off contestants

The Great British Bake Off's 2019 season will see a brand new set of 13 bakers battle it out in 30 challenges over 10 weeks.

At the end of each episode, one will be named star baker while another unlucky one will be sent home.

Based on past years, just three will be left making it through to the final to be crowned the winner.

Bake Off spoilers!

Intonight's episode, the remaining bakers have a lot to prove with three tough challenges set by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

There is a Signature designed to be shared; a deceptively simple summer staple in the Technical; and an ambitious Showstopper that will test their steady hand and artistic flair.

Only one can claim the kudos of star baker, while one, or even two, bakers will leave the tent for good.

Great British Bake Off 2019 judges and hosts

Restaurateur, food writer and novelist Prue Leith will once again be joining Paul Hollywood as judge of The Great British Bake Off when it returns to screens this year.

It'll be their third year together on the show since the series moved from BBC One in 2017.

Meanwhile, GBBO hosts Sandi Toksvig OBE and Noel Fielding will also be back to join judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

Sandi Toksvig OBE said: “It is an extraordinary honour to be part of this national treasure of a show. Noel Fielding is one of the nicest guys in show business. The first time I met him I felt like I had met a rather wayward cousin whose take on the world made me laugh. The only down side is that he has much better dress sense that I do."

Noel Fielding added: "GBBO is one of my favourite shows. I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me!"

Meanwhile, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice is returning with Jo Brand staying as host.
