Sandi Toksvig took part in this week's Great Celebrity Bake Off after one of the contestants fell ill.

Grime artist Big Narstie wasn't able to complete the show on Tuesday, forcing Sandi to step in and take over his place.

Big Narstie was one of four new celebs in the tent for the Great British Bake Off's celebrity specials this week. They were all taking part in support of Stand Up To Cancer, raising money to help fund vital cancer research.

In tonight's third episode, in the tent alongside Big Narstie were comedian Johnny Vegas, Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and Labour MP Jess Phillips.

As always, the celebs faced three tough challenges set by judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

This week the celebs started by manhandling shortbread for their signature challenge before getting to grips with a picnic favourite - pork pies - for the Technical.

However the next day, co-host Noel Fielding announced: "There has been a development overnight.

"Unfortunately, Big Narstie can’t be with us today as he’s a little bit unwell, but he will be replaced by another baker. It’s a seamless swap, don’t worry.”

Sandi then took over, with Noel nicknamking her “Little Narstie”.

She said: “I haven’t cooked a sponge since domestic science O-level.”

For their third and final challenge, the celebs were tasked with recreating themselves in cake form as their Showstopper.

"The thing that I really learnt today was to throw yourselves into it, give it a go, raise some money for Stand Up To Cancer and you have a lovely end product as well," Sandi added.

However the winner of this week's episode, taking home the star baker apron, was Jess Phillips.

The Great British Bake Off 2019 celebrity specials for Stand Up To Cancer air Tuesdays at 8PM on Channel 4. You can watch episodes online at All4.

Last week's second episode saw quirky funnyman James Acaster, stage and screen actor Russell Tovey, TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal and actress Michelle Keegan enter the tent.

And the first episode featured Hollywood star John Lithgow, comedian Jon Richardson, Paralympian Hannah Cockroft, and outrageous funnyman Russell Brand

Next week's episode on March 26 will feature Broadcaster, author and journalist Jeremy Paxman; award-winning comedian Joe Wilkinson; actress Sally Lindsay; and reality star and presenter Georgia Toffolo.
