Michelle Keegan wins Great Celebrity Bake Off with meringue sculpture

Great Celebrity Bake Off recap

THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF CELEBRITY SPECIAL SERIES 2

Michelle Keegan has been crowned the latest winner of The Great Celebrity Bake off 2019.

A whole host of famous faces ranging from actors to Olympians will be entering the tent throughout this year over five new episodes.

They are all taking part in support of Stand Up To Cancer, raising money to help fund vital cancer research.

In each episode four celebrities join Bake Off hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding in the tent, aiming to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their baking skills.

But only one celebrity in every episode will be awarded with the coveted star baker apron.

In tonight's second episode, four more celebrities battled it out in the famous tent in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

They were quirky funnyman James Acaster, stage and screen actor Russell Tovey, TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal and actress Michelle Keegan.

As always, the celebs faced three tough challenges set by judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

This week it started with topped flapjacks for the signature challenge before a tricky technical saw the contestants create cream horns. Finally, they had to create their 'happy places' - out of meringue - for the showstopper challenge.

It was a Bake Off disaster for James but Michelle found herself named the week's Star Baker.

The Great British Bake Off 2019 celebrity specials for Stand Up To Cancer air Tuesdays at 8PM on Channel 4. You can watch episodes online at All4.

Last week's first episode saw Hollywood star John Lithgow, comedian Jon Richardson, Paralympian Hannah Cockroft, and outrageous funnyman Russell Brand enter the tent.

Meanwhile, other celebs confirmed to be taking part in the series over the coming weeks include Jeremy Paxman, Sally Lindsay, Greg Wise, Jess Phillips MP, Big Narstie and Nicola Adams.

Joining them over five brand new episodes will be Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Caroline Flack, Joe Wilkinson, Johnny Vegas, Georgia Toffolo and Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

The main series of The Great British Bake Off will air later in 2019 on Channel 4. It'll be the tenth series to air overall and the third since the move from BBC.
