Russell Brand has won the first Great Celebrity British Bake Off with a vagina biscuit sculpture

A whole host of famous faces ranging from actors to Olympians will be entering the tent throughout this year over five new episodes.

They’ll be taking part in support of Stand Up To Cancer, raising money to help fund vital cancer research.

In each episode four celebrities join Bake Off hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding in the tent, aiming to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their baking skills.

But only one celebrity in every episode will be awarded with the coveted star baker apron.

In Tuesday’s first episode, the four foolhardy celebrities were Hollywood star John Lithgow, comedian Jon Richardson, Paralympian Hannah Cockroft, and outrageous funnyman Russell Brand.

Ahead of the episode, Jon quipped: “I’m still reeling from getting to work with John Lithgow. Sure I’d like to have done a film with him but I’ll settle for watching him use a balloon whisk from ten paces. An absolute hero.”

Just like in the main show, the celebrity bakers took on three challenges.

This week, the first challenge was a bake sale classic – brownies. The technical challenge then proved a handful as the celebs created a striped swiss roll.

Finally, there was a tough showstopper of a 3-D biscuit sculpture.

Russell was named star baker after creating a scene representing his wife giving birth, naming the creation the ‘Portal to all life’.

Meanwhile, other celebs confirmed to be taking part in the series include Jeremy Paxman, Sally Lindsay, Michelle Keegan, Russell Tovey, Greg Wise, Jess Phillips MP, James Acaster, Big Narstie and Nicola Adams.

Joining them over five brand new episodes will be Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Caroline Flack, Joe Wilkinson, Johnny Vegas, Georgia Toffolo, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and Rylan Clark-Neal.

The main series of The Great British Bake Off will air later in 2019 on Channel 4. It’ll be the tenth series to air overall and the third since the move from BBC.
