Mary Berry has confessed she's got no idea who new Great British Bake Off host Noel Fielding is.
Channel 4 announced last week that Noel and Sandi Toksvig would be replacing Mel & Sue as hosts of the show as it moves from the BBC.
And speaking about the new casting, Mary told The Sun this week: “I don’t know him, but I’d take my chances.”
On her own replacement, Prue Leith, Mary praised her "knowledge" and "personality", tipping the Bake Off newbie to do well.
Restaurateur, food writer and novelist Prue will be joining Paul Hollywood as judge of The Great British Bake Off when it returns to screens later this year on Channel 4.
Paul Hollywood said: “I could not be more delighted by who will be joining me on the show. Prue is a hugely respected culinary legend and Sandi and Noel are warm and utterly hilarious. I cannot wait to get back in the tent with the bakers.”
Prue Leith said: “I am just so thrilled to be joining Paul, Sandi and Noel on the biggest show on TV and I cannot wait to see what the real stars of the show – the bakers – are going to create for us. It is such an honour to be part of The Great British Bake Off team."
Channel 4 have yet to officially confirm when The Great British Bake Off starts this year beyond "this autumn".
