Richard Ayoade has been tipped to host the Great British Bake Off on Channel 4.
The TV presenter, comedian and actor is perhaps best known for his role on C4 sitcom the IT Crowd as well as regular appearances on The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.
Supposedly, Bake Off bosses think his dry sense of humour could make him an ideal replacement for current hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, who won't follow the show over to its new home.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Richard is a really popular choice at the minute, as many think he’s got a great character that would bring a great spark to the show.
“He’s got a wonderful off-beat sense of humour, which would really fit the change of channel – and would no doubt be a popular choice with viewers too."
The Bake Off insider added: “It’s still early days, but he is definitely up there and now the leading candidate.”
As yet Channel 4 hasn't confirmed many details about its plan for the Great British Bake Off when it takes over.
But we now that as well as a new host, the show will have a new judge as Mary Berry has announced she won't be joining.
However Paul Hollywood WILL stay with the show, which finishes its final BBC One series next Wednesday night.
