Great British Bake Off bosses 'want Taylor Swift' for next year's series

Taylor Swift could be a part of the Great British Bake Off next year, apparently.

Producers on the show, which has confirmed a move from BBC One to Channel 4 in 2017, are supposedly going all out to replace lost stars Mel Giedroyc, Sue Perkins and Mary Berry.

The trio of ladies quit the series out of loyalty to the BBC although Paul Hollywood will remain as a judge as the show switches channels.

According to the Daily Star, show bosses at production company Love Productions are hoping to get US singer Taylor Swift on the series.

It was reported last year that Taylor is "obsessed" with the show and supposedly gets her management to record every episode so she can catch up.

“Taylor loves Bake Off, adores Mary and Paul Hollywood and has connections to the producers," a source told the newspaper this past week. “If they got her on board it would make it an international hit with huge appeal to the broadcasters, especially in the United States."

The insider continued: "Landing Taylor will take a huge pay cheque, but the stakes are so high a few million more won’t make a difference.”

It all sounds rather ridiculous to us, but then so does the Bake Off moving to Channel 4 in the first place...

For now, the Great British Bake Off continues its final BBC series Wednesday nights at 8PM on BBC One.
