The Great British Bake Off bosses are reportedly set to offer Nadiya Hussain big money to join the show on Channel 4 - either as a presenter or a judge.
Nadiya was a fan favourite on the sixth series of the baking contest last year, with her career skyrocketing after she was crowned its winner.
Now, according to the Daily Star, she could be set to return to the show that made her name when it moves from the BBC to Channel 4 next year.
After Mel and Sue quit in protest at the move, Nadiya could become a presenter - and if Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood follow them out the door, she may even land a judging role.
"Nadiya is a natural choice to get involved in some way," a source said. "She’s with Love Productions, who make the show, anyway and she made her last programme, Chronicles of Nadiya, with them.
"She is hugely popular, gets great ratings, is a natural in front of the camera and knows the format and the pressures of being a contestant better than anyone."
The insider added that Nadiya could help Love win back some public favour, having faced a backlash this week for its decision to leave the Beeb.
"The powers that be at Love know they’re in the doghouse for going with the cash so it’s all about trying to get a new face on the show without having a backlash," they commented. "Nadiya solves those problems."
Nadiya is already a judge on the kids' version of the show, Junior Bake Off, which is due to air on CBBC later this year.
Mary and Paul are understood to have entered talks with C4, with the latter reportedly being spotted at the broadcaster's London HQ over the weekend.
