Sue Perkins is curiously MISSING from tomorrow night's episode of The Great British Bake Off 2016 - leaving Mel Giedroyc to present it on her own.
The comedy duo are considered part of the reason behind the show's huge ratings success, with their saucy innuendos making them as popular with viewers as judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
However, Mel was left to fly solo for the second week of the latest series. The reason for Sue's absence on set is unclear, but she will appear in the pre-recorded baking history segment, and has contributed voiceovers, which are recorded after filming.
She will rejoin the team for next week's instalment.
In the opening scenes of tomorrow's episode, Mel says: "Welcome to week two in the Bake Off tent. One baker has gone, they’re not coming back. Sue’s also gone, but she will be back."
A source told The Sun: "Sue was disappointed not to be able to join the team in the tent but she is back next week."
Bake Off returned last Wednesday with huge launch ratings, as over 10million viewers tuned in to see Lee Banfield become the first contestant to be eliminated.
This week they'll be tackling biscuits, with the Showstopper challenge apparently involving some of the show's largest gingerbread structures ever.
