The Great British Bake Off returned with massive ratings last night, it's been revealed this morning.
The new series launched to a whopping 10.4 million viewers, more than figures for the Britain's Got Talent final, England's Euro games and the recent Rio Olympics.
The number is up 1.1 million on last year's launch, paving the way for another hugely successful series, peaking with more than 11 million viewers.
Straight after the premiere of GBBO, The Chronicles of Nadiya, featuring last year's Bake Off winner, was watched by 4.2 million viewers.
Elsewhere, over on Channel 4 First Dates secured 920,000 viewers while Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 had 1.6 million.
