JLS' Aston Merrygold won't be returning to Got to Dance on Sky 1 this year, it's been confirmed.

Instead a new judge will be joining the show with favourites Ashley Banjo and Kimberly Wyatt both returning to this year’s judging panel.

Aston had joined the series last year in place of Adam Garcia, who quit to focus on other projects.

This summer sees the energetic entertainment show celebrate its fifth Birthday with what’s set to be the best series yet.

It'll be the biggest series yet having moved to a new schedule slot later in the year as a major event for summer 2014.

It was previously confirmed that Davina McCall will also return to host the dance contest, which will culminate in a week of nightly supersized live shows. Each will be hosted in an arena in front of a six-thousand strong crowd, as the dancers perform to win their place in the thrilling final. Further details on the new series will soon be revealed.

Davina McCall, commented: “The joy of dance is completely infectious and I was bitten by that bug long ago. Each year I learn something new. Last year it was krumping - whatever next?! I couldn’t be happier to be returning to Got To Dance and I can’t wait to meet more dancers ready to take on the challenge. Let’s get to twerk…I mean work!”

Phil Edgar Jones, Head of Entertainment, Sky commented, “Got to Dance is one of the jewels in Sky 1’s Entertainment Crown and hosted by the Queen of TV Davina McCall. We are thrilled about seeing the best of the UK’s most talented dancers take part in the fifth series and show off their amazing moves in front of Ashley and Kimberly. We really enjoyed working with Aston– who brought energy and vibrancy to his role as judge and we are excited to see who will step into his shoes.”
