Love Island's Sam Gowland joins Geordie Shore cast and is already proving popular

Love Island 2017: Sam

Love Islander Sam Gowland is joining Geordie Shore's cast for the next season.

Sam said the MTV show was "more my scene" following his stint in Love Island.

He explained: “When I got the opportunity I thought 'yeah it's more my scene' - going out. It's paid off. It's been one of the best things I've done and I've obviously come off and now I'm seeing a girl as well.

“They're two different scenes. With Love Island it's only a couple of drinks a night, where Geordie is more my scene."

Sources on set say he's already proving popular with the ladies.

According to tabloid reports, Sam has been spotted snogging co-stars Abbie Holborn and Chloe Ferry just days into filming.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Sam’s proving popular with the girls. He’s just a genuinely nice lad and everyone in the cast loves him.”

“At first, he was getting close to Abbie and it looked like they were going to get together, but then when filming moved to Tenerife, he switched to Chloe.”

A source in Tenerife added: “Sam and Chloe were necking on for about three minutes. They were really into each other and just would not stop kissing!”

Sam was a contestant on ITV2's Love Island earlier last summer but was dumped after three weeks.

He then re-entered the villa on Day 39, only to be re-dumped a week later.

Maybe he'll have better luck on Geordie Shore...
