Jeremy McConnell 'set for TV return on Ex On The Beach' despite assault conviction

Celebrity Big Brother 2016

Jeremy McConnell is reportedly set to join the cast of MTV's Ex On The Beach this year.

It's despite being convicted in court of assaulting ex girlfriend Stephanie Davis earlier this month.

Jeremy was spared jail, handed a suspended prison sentence, 200 hours of community service and a restraining order.

Now The Sun reports that Jeremy is keen to put the incident behind him and 'rebuild his life'.

The tabloid claims that he could be set for Ex On The Beach, having been axed from the latest series after the assault allegations were first made.

"Jeremy really wants to get back to his day job and is pursuing several TV opportunities," a source told The Sun. “He’s made some mistakes this year but having the chance to rebuild his career means everything to him.

“The only issue he has to work around is being on probation but MTV bosses are more than aware that he needs permission from the authorities to film.”

The publication adds that Jeremy "has been given a second chance as he attempts to get his life on track."

Meanwhile, in more Ex On The Beach rumours, Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson is said have already signed up for the next season.

The recent Celebrity Big Brother housemate is said to already be in Spain at the new villa.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Marnie’s signed up and is filming out in Spain right now.

“The producers have taken her phone away which is why the only things that have been showing up on her social media are scheduled tweets for the products she promotes and retweets for her book.”

Ex On The Beach season 8 will air later this year on MTV.
