Dancing On Ice judge Katarina Witt has hit back at critics claiming that she’s being too harsh on the celebrities, and insisted she's just telling the truth.
The former Olympic champion told The People today that the stars needed to be told the truth even if it's painful to hear.
The German skater explained to the newspaper: "I never thought I'd be judged on MY skating ability on Dancing On Ice. I know what I'm talking about. I know how difficult those lifts are, believe me."
Some of the Dancing On Ice contestants have complained about Katarina’s comments, with eliminated Heidi Range revealing she felt them "unfair."
But no-nonsense Katarina said: "None of them will ever be a world champion, or even a regional champion. I don't want to hurt anybody. But if somebody tells you the truth don't want to hear then it is painful. I'm sure Heidi knew her skating was not as good as the others."
Dancing On Ice 2012 continues tonight on ITV1.
