James 'Arg' Argent has reportedly signed up for Dancing On Ice's new line up.

The reality star is set to follow in the footsteps of his on/off girlfriend Gemma Collins, who competed in the latest series.

According to The Sun, watching Gemma on the show inspired Arg to sign up himself.

A source told the newspaper: “Arg saw what it did to Gemma’s profile and is hoping it can have the same effect. She also lost two-and-a-half stone so Arg wouldn’t mind slimming down.

“He knows Gemma will be front and centre in the studio and probably getting just as much camera time.”

Speaking earlier this year, Arg hinted he was interested in taking part in the show.

He told ITV's This Morning in an interview: "I haven't signed up, just yet. But.. I think there's a very good chance you'll be seeing me on the ice next year."

Arg added: "Gemma would love to see me do the show, purely for the fact that I'd go through everything that she's gone through."

The TOWIE regular is the second name linked to the 2020 Dancing On Ice line up.

It was reported earlier this week that Amber Gill is set to become the latest Love Island star to compete in the ice dancing competition, following Wes Nelson and Kem Cetinay.

According to The Sun, she'll begin training later this year ahead of the show's return to TV in the new year.

"The Dancing On Ice casting team are delighted with the decision to snap up Amber," shared a source. “Love Island contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyone’s minds.

“Amber is a stunning girl and they know she’ll look fabulous in all the sequinned costumes. She has a gutsy personality, too, so will make excellent viewing.”

Amber won this year's Love Island with partner Greg O'Shea. The pair split the £50,000 prize fund, walking out of the villa with £25,000 each.

Dancing On Ice typically begins in January on ITV.

It was former Strictly pro James Jordan who won Dancing On Ice's latest series earlier in 2019, beating Love Island's Wes Nelson and singer Saara Aalto in the final.
