The celebrity ice skating series made a TV comeback last January and has already been renewed for 2019.

And Katie is said to be hoping to be part of next year’s line up.

It follows reports that the reality star is having “cash flow” problems and is facing potential bankruptcy.

“Katie’s well aware she has cash flow problems, so has been calling ITV bosses in the hope of getting signed to a new show,” an insider claimed to The Sun newspaper. “Last year, she auditioned for Dancing On Ice and it got down to final talks but they couldn’t come up with the fee she wanted to take part.

“Her team was asking for a six-figure sum and they just didn’t have the budget for her. But this year, now her situation is very different, she would cut her appearance fee.

The source added: “Katie wants to work and knows that reality TV will be the best way to make money.”

Speaking about the show last year, Katie said: “They have asked me and I did go along so they have seen me on the skates.

“I would like to do it. It would be fun to try. It is dangerous but horse riding is dangerous.”

Whether or not Katie ends up on the show remains to be seen, with the 2019 Dancing On Ice line up not confirmed until the end of the year.

But rumour has it that work on next year’s cast has already begun.

However an insider recently claimed to the Daily Mirror that some stars had turned down the series over fears of being left injured.

They said: “Most of them love watching the show, but aren’t very keen on signing up.

“They reckon there could be too much of a risk of being injured.”

It was X Factor singer Jake Quickenden who was crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice’s comeback series.

Confirming the show’s return for 2019, Siobhan Greene, Head of Entertainment Commissioning, ITV, said “The show’s welcome back has exceeded our expectations and it’s been fantastic to see the audience at home loving it. The recommission is a no brainer and it’s brilliant for everyone involved to know it’ll be back next year.”

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Studios Creative Director, added: “All of us missed Dancing on Ice while the show was off screen and it seems all our viewers did too… our on screen changes have been brilliantly received and we’re looking forward to getting our skates on for series two.”

Dancing On Ice airs on ITV.
